Based on ongoing research the platform was developed to be a technology solution to help solve complex supply chain issues. The platform was development by Accenture and Adapt Digital Solutions (ADS) in collaboration and support by the Department of Minerals & Energy in South Africa (DMRE).

The platform is built on 4 key pillars:

• Shared Value – the platform has been built to support value for mining communities, SMME’s, mining companies and the DMRE

The platform has three major business processes:

• one being a market place connecting suppliers with buyers
• as well as a development tracker
• and value added services.
